GINGERED GREEN TEA SODA FROM CUISINE MAGAZINE

Try substituting black or jasmine tea

Ingredients:

1 cup water
2 inch knob of ginger root, sliced (1/4 cup)
6 green tea bags
1 cup sugar
2 cups club soda
4 lime wedges

Instructions:

Bring water and ginger to a boil.
Remove from heat and add tea bvags.
Steep for 5 minutes then press tea bags with back of spoon to extract excess liquid.
Remove and discard tea bags and ginger.
Whisk sugar into tea until completely dissolved.
Pour tea over ice in large container.
Stir in club soda.
Pour into 4 glasses.
Garnish each with a slice of lime.

NOTES: Delicious, light and refreshing but also way, way too sweet as I ended up in the hospital with a blood sugar level of 414 (had no idea it'd affect me this way) and we suggest adding the sugar to taste in each person's glass...
